Jim True-Frost has been an ensemble member of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company since 1989. He has acted in their productions of: "I just Stopped By to See the Man," "David Copperfield," "Side Man" (Ireland), "The Playboy of the Western World" (also Long Wharf Theatre), "Buried Child" (Broadway), "A Summer Remembered," "Curse of the Starving Class," "The Geography of Luck," "The Homecoming," "The Grapes of Wrath" (also Broadway, London, La Jolla), "Killers," "The Common Pursuit." He has directed numerous productions for Steppenwolf, including: "The Mesmerist," "Words and Music," "Ghost in the Machine," "Bite the Hand," "Tennessee," and "Terry Won't Talk."

Other theatre credits include: "Philadelphia, Here I Come!" (Off-Broadway), "Art" (Syracuse Stage), "The Beauty Queen of Leenane" (Syracuse Stage), "A Christmas Carol" (Syracuse Stage), "Road" (Remains Theatre), "The Good Person of Szechuan" (Goodman Theatre), "The Iceman Cometh" (Goodman Theatre), "Rat in the Skull" (Wisdom Bridge Theatre).

Film credits include: "Off the Map," "Affliction," "Far Harbor," "Normal Life," "The Hudsucker Proxy," "Singles," "Fat Man and Little Boy."

Television credits include: "The Wire" (HBO), "Karen Sisco" (ABC), "Two Over Easy" (Showtime), "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" (NBC), "Weird World," "Early Edition" (CBS), "Homicide: Life on the Street" (NBC), "Crime Story". True-Frost will next be on Broadway in the revival of "The Rivals."
